ANIMAREA is a musical project officially founded in 2008 through the artistic collaboration between Gabriele Toniolo (guitarist, songwriter, and producer) and Rossana Bern (vocals). Their partnership, which began in 2003 through an intense live activity across Northern Italy, developed around a refined musical research blending Smooth Latin Jazz, Pop-Soul, and elegant contemporary atmospheres. The ANIMAREA sound is characterized by melodic elegance and meticulous attention to arrangements, a fusion of jazz, soul, international pop, and smooth contemporary sounds, creating sophisticated, emotional, and carefully crafted atmospheres. Their main artistic influences include great performers and songwriters such as Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Etta James, Burt Bacharach, Stevie Wonder, Diana Krall, Norah Jones, Caro Emerald, Amy Winehouse, Incognito, Swing Out Sister, The Style Council, and Simply Red. In 2011, they released their first EP, “ANIMAREA”, featuring five original tracks. The single “Onda Anomala” was extracted from the EP and received airplay on several radio stations, including RAI Radio Uno. During the same period, ANIMAREA took part in important music competitions and events, including Festival di Ghedi (Brescia), Vota le Voci (Padua), and Videofestival Live (Milan). They also performed at Festival Show 2012 in Belluno, in front of an audience of approximately ten thousand people, sharing the stage with major Italian and international artists.
